The Place
Architecture
The Main Gallery is located behind a "sabil", a drinking-drought of the Ottoman period. It comprises 2 exhibition floors. The Small Gallery is located next-door in the same building. Both places have been renovated while preserving the authenticity of the historic structure: not the cold architecture of the "White Cube" but a warm, intimate "Sense of Place".
Urban Fabric
Except for the touristic Old City perimeter, Jaffa hosts a mixed population of Arabs and Jews. The Flea Market area is undergoing a dynamic process of urban renewal, including cultural activities and artist's studios. Street concerts, festive openings, lectures, performances and encounters animate our premises and are open to the public.
